Biography

Dorian studied trumpet and piano at the Royal College of Music Junior Department for two years and then Trinity College of Music for a further three years. After leaving music college he worked as a professional freelance trumpet player, performing a diverse range of music. Performance credits include:

  • Neil Diamond
  • Jamie Cullum
  • The Temptations
  • The Drifters

In 2005, Dorian switched his attention to composition. After completing the Music for the Media course (Guy Michelmore) he initially focused on production / media music and has composed and recorded the music for over 30 short films, animations and documentaries. He also has over 100 tracks placed with library music companies all over the world, resulting in usage on UK & USA television (including Discovery Channel, Lion TV & Living TV Primetime), Radio (including BBC 1Xtra), and Games.

In 2010 – 2012 he completed two composition diplomas with London College of Music (ALCM & LLCM). His attention now is on choral and 21st century concert music for a variety of ensembles.  His compositional style brings together a fusion of jazz harmony, world rhythms and serialism, with an ultimate aim of creating melodic, atonal music.

Dorian is now working towards his FTCL (Masters Diploma) with Trinity College London. He also:

Is an Assistant Examiner for Edexcel (AS Music Technology)
